The Hillcrest is full of surprises. It almost looks like a bungalow from the entry – but in fact it’s two stories – and a finished basement to boot! Designed as a cottage for our clients on Catchacoma Lake, it’s both rustic and elegant with lots of custom details – like the tray ceiling in the dining room and the custom staircase. It could also be the perfect home to retire to with a main floor master bedroom, leaving the upstairs rooms for when your kids and grand-kids come to visit.

Come through the front door and enjoy the ample storage space, designed for an active lifestyle. Ahead you’ll see the great room, complete with a breathtaking vaulted ceiling that allows for a  multitude of large windows that bring the outside in, and let natural light stream through the main living area.

Designed to take advantage of the lake views, to the side is a large kitchen is an open-plan dining area. Picture windows frame your view as you settle down for a delicious meal. After dinner you can relax by the fireplace, or perhaps head out onto the large deck and enjoy the sunset.

In this version of The Hillcrest plan, an open loft provides the perfect space to get a little work done. (Although with these views, it could be a challenge!) This perch could also be the perfect place to read a book.

In the bedrooms you’ll discover angled ceilings, secret cubbies, and enough space for your entire family. Spacious bathrooms mean there’s never a wait in the morning.

In this case, we turned the challenge of a steep grade change down to the lake into an advantage with a walkout basement with full windows allowing for natural light throughout.

In terms of interior options, The Hillcrest is a great example of a mix of wood and drywall inside giving it an airy and modern feel. Notice that the perimeter walls are log while the interior walls and ceilings are drywall. Interior dovetail corners show the craftsmanship that only log homes provide.

And because all of our wood is sourced from sustainable forests, so you can be proud of the environment you live in. Remember, all of our homes are custom designed, precision cut and assembled in our facility to ensure it’s everything is just right and shipped to wherever you are in the world, with all the support you or your builder will need.

We know a home is much more than just a collection of plans, timber, and construction materials — It’s a place you love and make your own. That’s why we put as much pride and care into helping you create the perfect home as you will in living there.
