For the hot sauce, you can use Tabasco, but Texas Pete is a North Carolina brand, made in my wife’s hometown of Winston-Salem, so I always use that. Makes about 2 cups.
- 1 ½ cups cider vinegar
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
