As you can see in the story on p. 32 of the June 2013 issue, that sport is stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). My younger son, Cole, and I took a SUP class so I could write about the experience in this issue of Cabin Life.
In my mind, SUPing easily qualifies as bucket-list material. It’s fun, it’s an adventure, and even better, it’s an experience you can share with a loved one. An added bonus: It’s something you can do at a lakeside cabin.
My SUP story is not the only bucket-list worthy story in the pages of this issue. There’s also:
- “The Amazing Race Weekend,” p. 20. It might just inspire you and your extended family to start some fun new traditions at your cabin.
- “Truly Blessed,” p. 20. Watch a meteor shower at the cabin? Count me in!
- “See More Wildlife,” p. 24. That’s a worthy goal. Better yet, pick a specific animal. I’d love to spot a cougar – from a long distance.
- “Eat, Drink and Be Married,” p. 44. Host a wedding at a cabin. Now that’s a big adventure!
