Our piece of paradise (aka cabin) is located in Port Ludlow, Wash., on the Puget Sound. Our primary home is in Seattle, so the cabin is less than a couple of hours away. Getting to our place includes a ferry ride, and although it’s not too far from the city, you’d never know it. Deer, Bald Eagles, porpoises, sea lions and river otters outnumber the people. Our kids have grown up coming here on weekends, so it’s just a part of our routine. It’s a small Pan Abode cabin (nothing fancy) but our friends and family, especially the kids, love it. I can’t imagine life without our cabin. We plan to retire and eventually rebuild here, so I’ll be old and crusty enjoying it until the end. Yes, I love cabin life.
