Small Woodshed Becomes a Revival Project

A picture perfect Oregon cabin that started out as a tool shed.

Obbie and Connie Atkinson own a seven-acre farm in Richland, Ore. This structure, originally a woodshed, is one of the many outbuildings on their farm. Over the years, the shed started leaning heavily to the left and the Atkinsons became concerned it would fall over.

The couple decided to shore up the foundation, preserving the shed’s charming character, and reinforced the structure from the inside out. They added a window, hardwood floors, a new door and a new roof. The cabin is currently used for Obbie’s tool storage, but it will soon become Connie’s art studio.
