To prevent moisture on your concrete floor from damaging a floor covering—whether it’s carpet, laminate, or one of many other materials rated for use in basements—you’ll need to add a ventilated barrier between the two surfaces. The easy-to-install, interlocking subfloor panels allow air to flow underneath, so normal dampness dries and never reaches the floor covering above them. Plus, elevating your finished floor off the concrete raises the floor temperature about 6 degrees.
