Quick & Easy Gourmet: Butternut Squash, Bacon & Wild Rice Soup

Every year I make at least one special soup during the autumn cool down. Everyone knows soup easily feeds a crowd and can make for the perfect comforting, hearty meal. Twelve years ago, when I was trying to impress my wife with my culinary skills, I made her the most subtle and delicate butternut squash soup. This version is a little less subtle, but it's every bit as delicious.
