Bonus photos and floor plans for "Mountain Lodge Remodel"
One family makes a river cabin in Colorado come to life by adding on, bringing the outside in
Published: May 22, 2013
|The cover story for the June 2013 issue of Cabin Life is about a cabin on the Blue River in Silverthorne, Colo. Owners Brad and Mary Heinrich, who both come from large Kansas families and love to entertain, knew that they needed more space for cabin guests. So they added on a dramatic new living room, getting plenty of help from professional designers and artisans (listed below). The result was a stunning retreat with many rustic elements, the perfect backdrop for their daughter Camille's wedding reception less than a year later. |
As a website exclusive, subscribers get to view these additional photos and floor plans of the renovated getaway. Enjoy!

Updated River Retreat
Built in 1985, Bill and Mary Heinrich's cabin sits on 30 acres in Silverthorne, Colo. The property includes 1,200 feet of frontage on the Blue River, noted for its Gold Medal fly-fishing status. After a living room addition in 2009, the remodeled retreat is now 3,800 square feet with three bedrooms and four baths, perfect for the Heinrichs to entertain plenty of family and friends.
