Which TV is Better for a Cold Climate: LCD or LED?

When heating up the cabin in winter, be careful about turning on the tube

Q: I am planning to update the TV in my unheated Wisconsin cottage to this century’s technology. We visit periodically in the winter, but the TV will be left in sub-freezing temperatures most of the winter. With this in mind, which is the better choice: LCD or LED?
