Seldom do we long for mid-winter in the midst of a warm and green summer vacation. But the promise of otter tracks in fresh snow, the tell-tale holes in thin ice, and the joy in catching a glimpse of an otter has me thinking about clean, cold snow and perfectly sunlit riverscapes.
