Remove Skunk Smell
Published:
April 1, 2005 Smelly Cat is Back!
It’s spring and, in many parts of the country, they’re baaaack! After hibernating through the winter, skunks are once again a nuisance to curious dogs, hiking humans, cars – and cabin owners with irresistible porches, stairs, garage foundations and boathouses. If you or your pet happen to startle a skunk and get sprayed, here’s the best remedy Cabin Life has found:
In a plastic bucket, mix 1 quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, and 1-2 teaspoons liquid soap. Wash thoroughly, then leave solution on for about 5 minutes. Thoroughly rinse with running water. May need several applications.
