Technological advances in medicine have made it easier to understand and diagnose Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Andrea H. Caesar has been suffering from chronic Lyme disease since the age of 11, but she wasn’t actually diagnosed until the age of 36. This is a chronicle of her physical and mental struggle during diagnosis and treatment, including frustrating encounters with doctors who refused to accept the disease’s existence.
